Happy Birthday to Get It Scrapped

What a wonderful birthday celebration. So many great challenges and motivations to scrap more and more. I had so much fun this week end trying to keep up with the constant stream of chatter and fantastic ideas coming my way. I did finish all four of the challenges and some of the mini projects too. What fun!
Today was Larken's half birthday and we just celebrated with a half cake. Julie is so cool about fun things for the kids and this was just another example. The weather has been very gorgeous all week end and the temperature has really gotten up there. In the high 80's both yesterday and today, I even had to turn the air on in my scraproom because I was working so hard in there.
Just sharing with you some of the layouts that I did this week end.

Many Thanks to all....

Thank you dear friends and family for all your kind words and thoughts during this difficult time for me. It is so comforting to be thought of and all the prayers really do provide strength. I will miss my sister Diane so very much; however,I really take comfort in the fact that she is not suffering anymore. She was very tired and weak, now she is at rest and has joined my Mom and Dad and my brother Ashley and sister June. The memorial yesterday was very short and simple, but the pastor did a wonderful job of comforting and she took such extra pains to be helpful to the children that were there, Diane's great grandchildren. My little Jasper was very sad for me when he saw me crying. It made him concerned about dying and what happens afterward. He was worried about what would happen to his basketball hoop if he died? He actually went up and asked the Pastor that very question. She considered it very seriously and said that he more than likely would be all grown up and will have children and grandchildren of his own to play with the basketball hoop. He seemed to accept that answer well. Leave it to the little ones to put some laughter into a emotionally hard time. I was so proud of him because he was such a good boy the whole time and it had been a long long journey there and back also.
Today is so cold and rainy, I think Spring forgot to stay around and Winter has stepped back in. I sure hope it warms up soon because this weather makes me so achy and sore. I sure hope it warms up soon so that when we have the graduation party for Ashleigh in May, the weather will be nice enough to have it outside. Today I need to work on those invitations and also try to catch up on some of the challenges and class projects from Get It Scrapped. Debbie Hodge has some wonderful classes going on right now and I just love what she has to offer. I have been so busy the last few days putting together a Memory album for my dear sister. I am glad that I was able to finish it and give it to Barbara at the Memorial. It only barely touched on all the wonderful things about Diane, I could have done volumes and volumes, but there was not time.
I have posted a few pictures that show how fickle the weather is right now. Jasper playing his first soccer game and Larken bundled up like an Eskimo watching. I love the wild violets that are growing in our flower beds. They remind me so much of my childhood and my mother. She loved it when I went out and picked violets for her and she would put them in a small vase to admire them. Just one of those warm fuzzy feelings that I get from remembering the past.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and can manage to run between the rain drops. See you again soon. Linda

Goodbye my dear sister Diane

April 16th, 2009.........I lost someone very close to me. My sister Diane has been more of a mother to me than anyone. I can't believe I won't see her again. I will always cherish my memories of her and for all the wonderful things we have done together and shared in our lives. Good bye Diane, I love you.

In Your Easter Bonnet

Do they still play that song on the radio at Eastertime? I think not.......Ed has commented several times that all the good song writers are dying off and the noise that they make today can hardly pass for music.....ahhhhh times are changing. Well, I sure hope everyone had a lovely Easter. It was very pretty and sunny here, on the cool side but at least not snowing or raining. Every since that glorious day it has poured a cold hard rain. My bones are protesting.

Easter Sunday was a great day and it makes me feel so blessed that I am living here in Columbus. Seeing the kids all dressed pretty and going off to church, delicious Omelets made by Jean for a late breakfast and then all together we put a delicious ham dinner on the table for dinner, just in time for Ed to come home from his playing job. He did a strolling accordion job for an Easter luncheon up in Cleveland.....busy busy.

Well, it didn't kill me..........

I think I did fine with the Heart Stress test today even though I did get terribly breathless during the treadmill part. Now they are going to look into some lung problems. But at least I have a heart that is still ticking just fine.
Today was a beautiful sunny day and the fog in my head lifted. I feel good and sorry I was such sour grapes yesterday. I am still very worried about my dear sister, Diane and I just pray she can regain her strength, get rid of that horrible infection and then I can go out to visit with her.
My Ashleigh is going to graduate next month from Miami University and I am so proud of her. She has worked very hard, over come some real obstacles and has come out on the top. She is one smart girl, with a good head on her shoulders. I want to have a party for her because she has done so well. I am getting kind of excited about that idea and hope I can even talk my dear brother and sister in law from Florida into coming up for the party. How special that would be.
Here's a cute picture of our dogs, would you say they like each other?
