July 28th

Once again, a couple of weeks have gone by since I have posted. I am just pokey and slow I guess. Today I did something that I have been wanting to do for so long. I went to a cute place in Westerville, OH and volunteered at the My Very Own Blanket shop. It is a non-profit organization that makes blankets for foster children. I was just blown away by the beautiful things that the ladies make there. I sewed with them for a couple of hours and enjoyed myself so much. I will go back again on Thursday to play again. I also brought home a bundle of squares to be sewn together, it is just up my alley and I am so glad that I finally went. Ed was in the same little town volunteering at the Westerville Public Library, so it was great for both of us.

It has been mighty quiet around here lately. Julie and Co. are on vacation and from what I hear they are having a fantastic time. The kids are enjoying so many cool water activities like kayaking and speed boating.........my oh my. I can't wait to see the photos and then working with them on layouts. Next year I want to go on a vacation.

Ed will have to shake the sheets to find me........I am determined to stick with my diet and exercise regimen. If you see me eating pastry and ice cream please grab it away from me. I need all the help I can get.
Today was the most perfectly beautiful summer day. Not too hot, but sunny and lovely with a breeze. We went to the YMCA in Gahanna and it is gorgeous. They have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool so we swam a bit in each. I think it will be a fun place to take Larken and Jasper for the day. Sundays you can bring guests all day long.
Having so much fun working with the classes at Get It Scrapped. I love doing the Everyday Life type layouts. There seems to never be a shortage of photos and ideas for those. Especially being close to Larken and Jasper, because their everyday life is always action packed and they never fail to make us laugh. Larken is just finishing up her last week of Summer School and Jasper is in "Bug" Camp this week. Last week he was in Basketball Camp and he really excelled in that. The coach told Julie that he was definitely a prodigy because he could do moves and shots that even old kids could not do. I have written before about his athletic skills and I think they should really encourage him for a life time of playing ball.
Well, that is all the excitement around here today. I am really looking forward to the week end and two full days of scrapping at Scrapbook Art.

Waiting for the phone to ring...

In my last post I told everyone about the new phone service that I have and I just thought everyone would be calling.. hmmmmm guess I was not clear about that. I do love the new Video Relay Service and it is really easy to call me now. The interpreters are great and it gives me such a nice sense of independence.
Here it is July 2, and I have kind of sloughed off on my postings here. Since I started going to the therapist and she has me doing a daily journal, I have been lazy about my blog. I hope everyone is having a lovely summer and that the weather is cooperating with you for what you want to do. Today was a very cool and rainy day here and that was just fine for me. Sometimes you just want a day to crawl under a blanket and read a good book. I am still reading the series of books about Murphy Brown mysteries. They are easy to read and just a nice light form of entertainment. It is all my over stressed brain can handle right now. The month of June was very overwhelming with doctor appointments for both Ed and I. I think there were about 3 days out of the whole month that we did not have to go see a doctor or be in the hospital for something. Most all of my tests are done and I hope by Monday I will get some results from them. I had a heart echo exam, a MRI of my crippled hand, xrays of my chest and lungs, a Cat Scan of my lungs, a Pulmonary Function Test and a battery of psychological tests. In August I have to have another sleep study done because my pulse/Ox test was so low during sleep. All in all, I am being checked inside and out and hopefully there will be a reason for my breathlessness and weakness.
So much for that, July is going to be a fun scrapping month. Next week end we are going to Cincinnati to scrap with friends and then on to Kentucky to visit Ash for a day. It will be a fun getaway. Traveling to Kentucky is very easy, straight down 71 all the way. I don't mind that drive much at all. Of course my legs and back are screaming at me when I get out of the car, but as far as driving difficulty it is easy.
Larken and Jasper are enjoying a lovely summer, they have so much fun just playing outside........you can see how happy they are on the swings at the top of the page. Larken has been attending summer school and she enjoys that, they both went to Bible Camp for a week and now Jasper is going to Nature Camp which he really loves. He is a very typical boy, he loves bugs, worms, frogs and anything that crawls or is squiggly.
I am so happy that Ed is making some real improvements and he has more zest for life. He went to his community band rehearsal last night and has a concert coming up on the 4th of July. Our prayers are being answered.
